Stanton Barrett definitely lives life on the edge. A highly respected Hollywood stuntman known for accomplishing amazing feats, Barrett is a true extreme sports enthusiast. Barrett is a highly accomplished NASCAR driver, snowmobile racer, downhill skier, mountain biker, surfer, scuba diver and surprising golfer.
Barrett's approach to living life to the fullest with a dedication to intensity and speed makes him a natural fit for the world of motorsports.
After a successful career in go-karts with an amazing 21 wins in 28 starts, Barrett made his NASCAR Busch Series debut in 1992 at Oxford Plains Speedway. He garnered attention by earning the outside pole in his very first NASCAR Busch Series race. He has run a partial schedule in the NASCAR Busch Series ever since capturing a total of one top-5 and seven top-10 starts. In addition, Barrett has competed in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series on a limited basis since 1999.
Genetics and environment were certainly both key contributors to Barrett's extraordinary talents and accomplishments. He comes from an amazing lineage of professional athletes.
Stanton's grandfather, Dave McCoy, served as a coach for the US Ski Team and founded Mammoth Mountain, the largest ski resort in the country. His mother, Penny McCoy, was an Olympic and US Ski Team member. Stanton's father, Stan Barrett, was one of Hollywood's most respected stuntmen. The elder Barrett went on to be an accomplished NASCAR driver in the early 1980s with his close friends Hal Nedham, Burt Reynolds and Paul Newman with Skoal Bandit team.
In 2007, Barrett is determined to fulfill his need for speed and delight fans by competing in NASCAR Busch Series as driver of the No. 30 SKI Motorsports Chevrolet.
