It’s Raining NOS Energy Drink!
Team NOS Members – Kyle Busch and Chris Forsberg Celebrate Victories This Weekend!
April has remained to be the NOS shower month. The NOS Energy Drink teams are off to a great start for the 2008 season, and many of them have already flexed their muscles. There were sticky victory lanes on April 11th and 12th as two NOS Team Members muscled their way to victory in both NASCAR and Drifting.
Congratulations to both Kyle Busch for his back to back victory in NASCAR’s Nationwide series on Friday night April 11th in Phoenix, and to Chris Forsberg for his victory at the first Formula D event of the 2008 season on Saturday April 12th in Long Beach, Ca. Both of these NOS athletes are extreme competitors and it showed this weekend with their drive and determination to take out all the competition for the win! Both victories came down to exciting finishes at the end, and ultimately ending in NOS showers from their teammates after their victories!
Kyle Busch gave fans of the NASCAR Nationwide Series a case of déjà vu at Phoenix International Raceway as he scored a dominant victory for the second straight week. The driver of the No. 18 Interstate Batteries Toyota, for Joe Gibbs Racing, started from the pole in Friday night’s Bashas’ Supermarkets 200 and led four times for a race-high 133 laps. He beat Carl Edwards to the finish by .241 of a second to earn his second win of the season and the 13th of his Nationwide Series career.
Busch’s first Nationwide Series victory of 2008 came last week at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, where he led four times for a race-high 126 laps.
“There in the beginning of the race, I felt like we had the car to beat. It was definitely the class of the field,” said Busch. “Once again, there would be no way for me to be in victory lane without the amazing crew I have working alongside of me on the No. 18 Interstate Batteries Toyota. They put me in a great position to win this race and to receive another NOS Bath in victory lane! Getting sprayed down with NOS after a win never gets old for us. It was just a great night for the whole team!”
Team NOS member Chris Forsberg has been waiting all off-season for the start of the 2008 Formula D series. Chris is one of America’s top Drifters and has progressed incredibly over the past year. NOS Energy Drink signed a deal with Chris this off-season and has been anticipating an amazing season out of Chris and his team.
The scene was set in Long Beach, Ca, where Formula D held their first event of the 2008 season, with extreme anticipation. Chris Forsberg was giving a show all day long with his new NOS Energy Drink Nissan 350Z powered by an 8-Cylinder Nissan Titan motor. You could hear the 20,000 plus fans roar each time Chris Drifted past them with huge amounts of tire smoke covering the grandstands.
Chris battled all day long against top Drift competitors and was able to win each round landing him a battle for 1st place against past Formula D champion Sam Hubinette. Sam is a fierce competitor and one of the best Drifters in the country. Sam comes with pure raw muscle as he competes in a Mopar powered Dodge Viper. The battle at the end of the night was tough between the two Drifters, ending with a judges decision to go “One More Time” as they were both nearly perfect, which made it impossible to declare a clear winner. Once they ran the “OMT” Chris came out victorious, which set the crowd going nuts!
“This is out of control!” said Forsberg. “I knew we had a good car and were ready, but I didn’t know how we where going to get past Sam. This is a huge victory for Forsberg Racing and the NOS Energy Drink Nissan 350Z. I can’t thank Maxxis Tires and especially NOS Energy Drink enough for believing in us. I’m off to the podium where I’m sure my crew is waiting to spray me down with NOS!”
NOS Energy Drink is extremely proud of both Chris Forsberg and Kyle Busch for their hard work and efforts this weekend. Please stay tuned to www.drinkNOS.com for details and schedules of all our NOS Team Members for 2008.
