NOS Energy Drink Kicks Off the 2007 Racing Season at Daytona International Speedway with Chad McCumbee, Andy Belmont Racing
Concord, NC - Team NOS Energy Drink driver Chad McCumbee raced the Andy Belmont Racing Monte Carlo solidly into a very tough field of race cars that saw 66 race cars attempt qualifying for the 41 car event. McCumbee showed his skill on the high banks racing up through the field from 27th to 13th position before the first round of pit stops began and shuffled the running order.
The race was going well, and Chad was really starting to make moves. Then out of nowhere, The NOS Energy Drink car was caught up in a big crash on the tricky Daytona tri-oval. Undaunted by the damage, the NOS crew changed the radiator and patched the car to get Chad back onto the speedway to gain valuable championship points. This was no easy task, as there was a lot of damage to the car. Later in the event, debris from another car destroyed the new radiator and Chad was forced to retire the NOS car from competition.
"We are ecstatic about our partnership with NOS Energy Drink. It was a great kick off to our season". It sure would have been great to finish out our day and run in the top ten with the NOS Energy Drink car, we just got collected in the big wreck, stated McCumbee.
NOS Energy Drink made an impact at Daytona exposing over 2,500 race fans to the NOS brand through sampling. Fans met and interacted with the Naughty NOS girls, who were on hand in the Andy Belmont Racing pit area as well. This was a great moment for the NOS Energy Drink Brand. Getting exposure to stock car racing fans is an entirely demographic for NOS Energy Drink. Not to mention the excitement that went on while watching the NOS Energy Drink #62 car run extremely strong on the track. This is just a great way to kick off the whole season. We were disappointed for Chad McCumbee regarding the wreck, because he was really looking good out there! Overall this was a huge success, and a ton of fun! Said Mike Fine NOS Brand Director.
